SKX issued a statement early May 2 saying the company was consulting with advisors about leading an investment group to acquire an intersest in the team, currently in the NBA Playoffs amid controversy over its owner's racist comments that had the league fine hime $2.5 million and could force him to shed the team.
Skechers joins the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Larry Ellison,David Geffen and boxer Floyd, Merriweather who have expressed interest in acquiring a stake in the Los Angeles franchise if current owner Donald Sterling is forces to sell by the league.
