The Sale of Volkswagen October Add up 14.6%

Volkswagen has reported a 14.6% increase in its worldwide sales to 788,700 vehicles in October 2012, compared to 688,000 units for the same period in 2011.

From January to October 2012, the company's sales increased 10.2% to 7.50 million units, compared to 6.80 million units for the same period last year.

For the first ten months of 2012, the company's deliveries in North America rose 25.4% to 681,200 vehicles of which 481,100 units were delivered in the US.

In South America, the automaker's deliveries increased 8.4% to 842,200 vehicles during the first ten months of 2012 of which 644,000 were delivered to Brazil.

The company's sales grew 19% to 2.56 million vehicles in the Asia-Pacific region of which 2.26 million went to China.

In Europe, Volkswagen delivered 3.10 million vehicles of which over 1.57 million to Western Europe (excluding Germany).

In Germany, the company's deliveries increased 3.5% to 994,500 units, while in Central and Eastern Europe deliveries reached 534,600 units.

Volkswagen board member for sales Christian Klingler said that the company developed very well in October and put in a good performance in North America, China and also Russia.

"However, market uncertainty continues, particularly in Western Europe" Klingler said.
