PepsiCo's Frito-Lay division has introduced Lay's Wavy Roasted Garlic & Sea Salt flavored potato chips in the US.
Frito-Lay senior director of marketing Jennifer Saenz noted that garlic is a tried flavor - one its consumers have loved for decades.
"With Lay's Wavy Garlic & Sea Salt, we've brought the popular flavor back with a sophisticated sea salt twist - for an entirely new ridged potato chip taste experience that can be enjoyed with a favorite dip or straight from the bag," Saenz added.
Along with the release of the latest product, the Lay's Wavy brand is also introducing a revamped packaging across the complete product line.
This is the first packaging change in the product line's two-decade history.
The new Lay's Wavy chip bags will offer a more modern look with vibrant colors and a font exuding the brand's playful personality in order to better appeal to its female consumers, Frito-Lay claimed.
Available from this month across outlets in US, Lay's Wavy Roasted Garlic & Sea Salt flavored potato chips comes in a 9 1/2-oz. bag for a suggested retail price of $4.29.
Single-serve sizes will be available for a limited time at participating retail outlets beginning summer 2013.
