Hyundai announced a six-speed automatic transmission for hybrid electric vehicles (HEV).
The system integrates electric motor and applies technologies that provide tangible benefits to the users by increasing fuel economy and reduce energy loss of the vehicle.
It weighs 130 kg (wet) and is capable of delivering 280 Nm of torque.
Hyundai has added new traction motor and electric oil pump (EOP) and it has removed the torque converter from the transmission.
The new transmission which is set to be introduced in the new Sonata car does not have mechanical oil pump (MOP).
Hyundai has also used new electric oil pump (EOP) which is designed to automatically optimize the system according to the driving conditions.
