Canada-based Kinnikinnick Foods is voluntarily recalling its own brand Pie Crusts as the product contains egg that is not mentioned on the labeling, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
The product subject to recall Kinnikinnick Foods Pie Crusts bears UPC code 6 20133 00600 9, best before dates 2013NO20, 2013NO21, 2013DE11 and 2013DE14 and was sold in 290g packs.
The recalled product has been distributed in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario, and might have been distributed nationally.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of the recalled product. CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
Consumers intolerant to egg are advised not to consume the recalled product as it may cause serious or life-threatening reaction.
