Bosch Packaging Technology is planning to reinforce its presence in the liquid food industry with the acquisition of Osgood Industries.
Oldsmar, Florida-headquartered Osgood Industries produces fill- and seal equipment, including rotary and linear machinery lines for pre-formed containers in liquid food industry.
The company generated revenues of $26m in 2014 and has a workforce of 150.
Bosch Packaging Technology president Friedbert Klefenz said: "With Osgood Industries, we are further adding to our strategic activities in the area of liquid food.
"This is an important step for us on our journey to fulfilling our PA 2020 strategy, so we are eager to complete this transaction.
"The experience of the Osgood team, their dedication to customer satisfaction and their expertise in this growing segment make this a much-valued addition to the Bosch team."
The transaction is subject to the receipt of regulatory approvals.
Osgood is already a sales agent for Bosch Packaging Technology in North America managing the latter's portfolio of thermoforming, fill- and seal-technology.
Agreement with Osgood comes after Bosch completed two major acquisitions. In 2013, the company acquired Marseille-based Tecsor Machines et Systèmes, which provides machinery for producing and filling polyethylene containers for liquid and paste-like foodstuffs.
In 2012, Bosch purchased German firm Ampack, which offers filling machinery for cups and bottles such as dairy products, baby food, and hospital food.
