Agricultural processing firm Sunwin Stevia International has completed construction on a new manufacturing plant in China which will increase the company's stevia production capacity.
The new facility is equipped with advanced production equipment such as scraper with centrifuge and fluidized drying system.
Around $2m was invested in the facility, which is capable of producing around 500 metric tons of high-grade stevia annually.
Sunwin Stevia CEO Dongdong Lin said: "We believe Sunwin Stevia becomes the largest manufacturer of high-grade stevia in the world. We expect the total demand for stevia extract will reach a new level in 2016 and beyond.
"Our state of the art manufacturing facilities lay a solid foundation to grow our stevia business. Our total manufacturing capacity will allow us to grow our annual revenues over $60 million."
Currently, Sunwin Stevia has a capacity to produce close to 1,600 metric tons of stevia extract annually.
The company offers stevia products containing Rebaudioside A in a range of 50% to 99% in formulations of powder, granular, or tablet.
