This Move Drives Operating Efficiencies and Improved Customer Service

PepsiCo and its independent bottlers Pepsi Bottling Ventures (PBV) and the Honickman Group's Pepsi-Cola Bottling (PCNY) have announced their intent to transfer certain franchise ownerships in New York, North Carolina, Idaho and Vermont.

PepsiCo has agreed for the exchange of five counties of company-owned North Carolina territory which include Charlotte, with PBV's 11 counties in Vermont and 18 counties in Idaho.

PBV has agreed to sell its Long Island territory including Nassau and Suffolk counties to the Honickman Group's PCNY.

PepsiCo Americas Beverages CEO Al Carey said, "This move drives operating efficiencies and improved customer service: one of our top priorities. Our strong independent bottlers will continue to play a big role in helping us do that - especially at the local level."

Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

PBV, a joint venture between Suntory International and Pepsi, is a bottler of Pepsi-Cola products and currently operates 28 bottling and distribution facilities in North America.
