Boeing Asks FAA for Approval of 787 "Dreamliner" Aircraft Flight Test

Boeing Corp. has asked the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States (the "FAA") for Boeing 787 "Dreamliner" aircraft flight test application. Boeing's move shows that it has made progress in resolving the failure of the 787 aircraft batteries. Previously, all 787 had been banned because of battery failure.

Boeing announced its submission of flight test application, which confirmed Seattle Times’ report. The newspaper said the FAA could approve the submission as early as Monday evening. The FAA did not immediately reply to the reporter asked.

The Seattle Times citing two sources said, Boeing would test a solution of 787 aircraft batteries which caused fire last month, but passenger flights may need weeks or even months.
