Rehrig Pacific and Intelleflex have formed a strategic solution partnership to improve the quality and traceability of temperature-sensitive products in the cold supply chain.
The partnership is expected to develop reusable transport packaging solutions that enable pharmaceutical shippers and others to improve cold chain operations management.
The technology will provide on-demand data visibility to track and monitor the temperature and condition of temperature-sensitive products, such as pharmaceuticals and packaged foods and also provides products management without offloading pallets or opening the containers.
The solution, using ZEST Data Services, gives information regarding temperature changes and other environmental factors that can effect the shipment, thereby alerting the concerned people to avoid risks related to quality and safety.
Rehrig Pacific Supply Chain Technology Solutions national sales manager Kaley Parkinson said partnering with Intelleflex on intelligent transport packaging solutions and ZEST Data Services will provide logistical benefits to cold chain operations.
''We are pleased to work with Intelleflex to assist with our ongoing pursuit of continuous improvement for our customers," Parkinson added.
With integrating Intelleflex XC3 Technology directly into Rehrig's packaging systems, customers can easily track containers, bins, crates, pallets and reusable plastic containers in the supply chain.
Intelleflex president and CEO Peter Mehring said, "We're excited to work with Rehrig Pacific to incorporate Intelleflex XC3 Technology temperature-monitoring tags directly into their intelligent reusable transport packaging solutions to provide customers with actionable data for improving the freshness and quality of perishable goods."
