Volkswagen of America Has Issued Two Separate Recalls for Its 2009 Routan

Volkswagen of America has issued two separate recalls for its 2009 Routan due to problem with the ignition switch, and 2009-2014 model of its Tiguan for issues with fuel system.

Around 18,526 Routans and around 151,389 Tiguan will be affected by the recalls.

When the ignition key is moved into ACCESSORY or OFF position the engine of the Routan will get turned off, which could cut power from some of the safety systems like power steering and power braking, which could increase the risks involved in case of a crash.

Volkswagen will notify the owners of Routan, and if the fault is found then it will modify the ignition switch.

In case of Tiguan, bubbles may form in the vehicles fuel system which could lead to stalling of the vehicle, and unexpected Stalling can result in a crash.

The dealers and customers of Tiguan will be informed by the Volkswagen about the issue, and the company will update the vehicles software for free.
