Car Charging, a provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging services, has acquired the EV Pass, an EV charging network provider, along with its Central New York Destination Location Network from Synapse Sustainability Trust in the US.
With the acquisition, CarCharging owns and operates the EV charging stations previously operated by EVPass in Central New York, Syracuse, Rome, and surrounding areas.
CarCharging CEO Michael Farkas said that the Electric Vehicle sales continue to set records.
"We intend to support the EV market by expanding the availability of EV charging services, not only in New York, but throughout the country," Farkas added.
As a part of the transaction, CarCharging has appointed Synapse Sustainability Trust executive director Eckardt Beck in its Board of Directors.
The charging stations are deployed in areas including New York shopping malls, institutions, entertainment venues and downtown commuter parking locations.
Both the companies use EV charging stations manufactured by ChargePoint that offer 240volts with 32amps of power to recharge an EV's battery.
