Symington's Receives Heat Exchangers From Hrs Heat Exchangers for Noodle Factory

British food company Symington's has received K series heat exchangers from HRS Heat Exchangers for its £15m noodle factory in Leeds, UK.

The move is on the lines of food manufacturer's decision to move its production base from China to the UK, for which HRS is contracted to supply HRS KH109 heat exchanger to heat palm oil for instant noodle frying.

Commenting on the developments, Symington's project engineer Tim Strowbridge said that relocating the company's noodle operations from China to the UK was an important step in its overall growth strategy.

"The entire design offered by HRS was focused on maximising thermal efficiency of our noddle plant and special attention was paid to our requirements," added Strowbridge.

HRS K series, a multi-tube heat exchanger, is expected to enhance heat transfer efficiency by increasing heat transfer rate through its corrugated tubes. Further, these corrugated tubes offers increased heat and flow benefits ensuring a non-stop flow and stability of the palm oil for the frying process.

HRS Heat Exchangers technical design engineer Stephen Wooler noted, "The K series design makes it highly corrosion resistant and ideally suited for applications such as CIP heating.

"Symington's required us to supply a tailored thermal processing unit that would make their noodle manufacturing more efficient," explained Wooler.
