Henkel has announced the acquisition of the pressure sensitive adhesives (PSA) product range from the US-based specialty chemicals company Cytec Industries, with effective from 1 August 2012.
According to Henkel, both companies signed the agreement on 11 May 2012 and the acquisition will strengthen its position in the area of sensitive adhesives as the acquired product range is complementary to its PSA business.
Pressure sensitive adhesives are used in the packaging, automotive, electronic and durable goods industries for foils and films, tapes or labels.
Cytec's PSA product range generated sales of $94m in fiscal 2011.
Germany-based Henkel operates worldwide with brands and technologies in three business areas including laundry & home care, cosmetics/toiletries and adhesive technologies.
