North Dakota based Anchor Ingredients has acquired a rail-loading and storage facility in Montana for an undisclosed sum.
The new pulse facility acquisition according to Anchor Ingredients is said to increase its sourcing network which would help the company better serve its customers.
Located in Culbertson, the pulse facility will be used by Anchor Ingredients to source specialty crops, in particular peas and lentils from Montana and western North Dakota.
Anchor Ingredients director Patrick Backowski said: "At Anchor, our first priority has always been taking care of our customers by providing superior ingredients on-time and without hassle.”
"This pulse facility allows us to take our customer service to the next level and expand our offerings by getting Anchor closer to the source of our raw materials."
The ingredient supplier is looking to invest further in the Montana pulse facility for its on-site enhancements and value-added processing capabilities.
Anchor Ingredients said that its consistent rail service along with online storage has positioned it to sustain its momentum and consolidate its reputation in the specialty crops industry.
In July, the ingredient supplier acquired a special crop processing facility in Buffalo, North Dakota. Like the pulse facility in Culbertson, the Buffalo facility also has access to BNSF railroad.
Founded last year in partnership with The Arthur Companies, the company processes and distributes ingredients to the food and pet food industries.
Headquartered in Fargo, Anchor Ingredients has four facilities in the upper Midwest region.
