French car maker PSA Peugeot-Citroen has unveiled the new DS Wild Rubis Concept hybrid crossover vehicle at the ongoing 2013 Auto Shanghai being held in China.
The vehicle is powered by a 1.6L THP gasoline engine that generates an output of 225hp (165kW) and is mated to an electric motor installed on the rear axle that delivers 70HP (51.5kW) of output.
Wild Rubis offers a range of 50km in only electric and has CO2 emissions of 43g/km in the hybrid mode.
The electric motor in the car is powered by lithium-ion batteries that can be recharged using a domestic socket.
The hybrid comes with an automatic feature that switches the vehicle to four-wheel drive mode during high-speeds or when the grip is low, in which the internal combustion engine driving the front wheels while the electric motor powers the rear axle.
Features of the crossover include 21inch wheels, roof rails flowing into the C-pillars, chrome insert in the side sill, slim taillights and twin tailpipes.
