US-based company engaged in sustainable reusable packaging, ORBIS has completed the acquisition of Cartonplast’s interest in the CORBI Plastics joint venture. Cartonplast and ORBIS formed a joint venture creating CORBI Plastics, in 2005.
ORBIS president Bill Ash said the company's customers look for ways to reduce their supply chain costs with reusable packaging.
The acquisition gives the company an opportunity to meet the diverse and growing needs of the marketplace with an integrated product line and enhanced service levels to support ORBIS customers.
"This will expand ORBIS' service capabilities, with additional locations to better serve a wider group of customers," Ash said.
ORBIS, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Menasha has not disclosed the terms of the transaction.
CORBI operates a manufacturing facility in DeForest, Wisconsin, US and eleven service centers across the US. The company also owns and manages pools of plastic reusable pallets, top frames and divider sheets that protect food, beverage and aerosol packaging products during storage and distribution.
