IBM has opened a European-based IBM SmartCloud for Social Business Data Centre in Germany, which it is claimed will help enterprises in implementing social business technology.
The new centre will serve the requirements of customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and assist businesses in using cloud-based social business offerings to build workforces that are capable of sharing knowledge.
IBM social business general manager Alistair Rennie said as global cloud-based Social Business adoption soars, companies continue to turn to IBM to usher them into this new social era. "With the new European Data Center we expand our industry-leading Social Business footprint, strengthening our ability to meet the needs for businesses seeking security-rich, flexible cloud environments that let them unleash innovation and drive a smart erenterprise," Rennie said.
The new European Data Centre will also assist IBM in meeting each customer's unique deployment requirements via flexible delivery models such as either public or private cloud or a blend of cloud and on-premise.
New companies can tap into integrated social experience that incorporates one-click access to tools including online meetings, email, calendaring, instant messaging, in addition allowing businesses to invite external partners, clients and suppliers to participate in interactions.
The new data centre joins other SmartCloud for Social Business facilities located in North America and Asia Pacific.
