Tesla has renovated its factory in Fremont, California to increase the plant’s production capacity.
The upgradation process included added capacity to the body shop, improvement in assembly line, and enhanced powertrain assembly along with improved facilities for the workers.
The company expects that the renovation will help produce more cars and improved work environment.
The luxury car maker has added conveyors and advanced robots in its powertrain department to produce 1 million battery cells per day which is 200,000 more than its previous production capacity.
Tesla has also added new welding equipment which has improved the production uptime by 5 to 10%.
To increase overseas delivery of cars, the company has added 24 new tire and export docks in the main building of the Fremont factory.
