HB Fuller, a US-based formulator, manufacturer and marketer of adhesives, has added Flextra Fast SF8700/XR1000 to its Flextra Fast laminating adhesives range.
The new adhesive is claimed to offer better cure time to fill safely with food, even for difficult applications, such as barrier-to-barrier laminating.
Unlike conventional solvent-less adhesive systems, the Flextra Fast SF8700/XR1000 allows flexible packaging converters to laminate barrier films together faster while retaining appearance.
HB Fuller North America sales director, converting Joe Tuso said that the company, with its latest adhesive, is offering new opportunities to converters for better delivery times and a critical benefit for its customers to safely fill flexible packages.
"Speed, safety and performance have become our mantra for the flexible packaging industry," Tuso added.
The Flextra Fast product accommodates line speeds up to 1200ft per minute (fpm) with 800 fpm on barrier-to-barrier laminations as well as offers peroxyacetic acid (PAA) decay and pouching in as little as one day.
The Flextra Fast SF8700/XR1000 system is designed for PET/PE(EVOH), OPA/PE(EVOH), OPA/Alu high barrier systems.
