Daimler recently announced to produce new Benz CLA in Hungary, and Kecskemet factory in Hungary will be the only factory to produce this model.
In order to defeat BMW and Audi and to regain the luxury car market sales champion, Daimler plans to introduce 3 compact cars by 2015 and Benz CLA is one of them.
The new Benz CLA is a four - door Coupe developed on the basis of compact chassis. This model is the second Benz model Daimler produced in Kecskemet factory after Mercedes B-Class car, which will be introduced in April, 2013.
Cai Che, CEO of Daimler, said: “CLA and formidable Kecskemet factory will help Mercedes – Benz to be the leading car enterprises in the luxury car market by 2020.”
Kecskemet factory totally produced 40 thousand Mercedes B-Class cars last year. In order to produce new CLA, Daimler hired more 500 employees, which made the factory’s total number of employees reached more than 3,000.
