Animated in a gorgeous 2.5D style, the remake recreates the spooky atmosphere and oppressive lighting fans adore from the classic adventure.
Konami hasn’t released a new entry in the Castlevania franchise since Lords of Shadow 2 in 2014, which received a less than lukewarm reception from critics and fans.
Publishers are renown for shutting down ambitious and lovingly crafted projects like this, with Nintendo slamming the ban hammer down on a number of hobbyist remakes.
If the same fate falls on this, at least fans have Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night to look forward to.
