German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz will launch a new B-Class Electric Drive vehicle in the US by the end of 2013.
The vehicle is powered by an electric motor that generates an output of 130kW/177hp and 320Nm of torque with acceleration of 100 km/h in about 10S.
Electric Motor in the car runs on a lithium-ion battery located at the energy space under the floor that is claimed by the company to offer the vehicle travel distance of 200km.
Mercedes-Benz has also launched the urban two-seater, Smart Fortwo electric drive vehicle in the US.
The Fortwo is powered by an electric motor that delivers output of 55kW (75hp) and runs on lithium-ion battery that offers a driving range of about 145km, while providing acceleration of 0-60km/h in 4.8S with top speed of 125km/h.
