German carmaker Volkswagen Group has delivered 4.36 million vehicles in the first nine months of 2013, up 3.6%, compared with 4.21 million vehicles in the same period of 2012.
The company delivered more than 526,300 units to customers in September, compared with 492,800 units in the same period in 2012.
In the Asia-Pacific region, the group delivered 1.95 million units, registering a growth of 16.5%, compared with 1.68 million units in 2012.
Deliveries in the North America market registered a growth of 2.1% with 466,000 units delivered in the period to September 2013, compared to 456,500 vehicles in 2012.
In the South America region, the group faced 13.4% decline in deliveries to 542,500 units, compared with 626,500 vehicles in 2012.
Across the European market, the group delivered 1.23 million vehicles, compared with 1.3 million units for the same period a year ago.
Volkswagen Group and Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand Sales and Marketing board member Christian Klingler said, "Volkswagen Passenger Cars has held its own well on world markets despite the challenging situation and continued to grow in China in particular."
