Baosteel Becomes The First to Grasp Sintering Waste Heat Recycling Key Technique in China

Baosteel becomes the first to grasp sintering waste heat recycling key technique in China. Recently, the first domestic sintering waste heat recycling project belonging to first batch of low-carbon technology innovation and industrialization demonstration project accredited by National Development and Reform Commission is set up and put into operation in Ningbo Steel. It fills blank in domestic large-scale sintering machine waste gas recycling and a variety of contaminants in depth purification. This technology has a good application prospect in steel industry.

In sintering waste heat recycling key technical process independent integration, Baosteel Co.,Ltd., Baosteel Central Research Institute, Baosteel Engineering, Baosteel Stainless Steel, Ningbo Steel increase collaborative research efforts. Targeting sintering waste gas recycling and pollution reduction key technical difficulties and relying on sintering exhaust gas recycling mid-test platform built previously, they carry out groundbreaking research in loop sintering process system design and optimization, pollutant source suppression, efficient dust removal equipment development, system linkage control and stable operation technology, hot air circulation sintering process control and process model. They form initially sintering waste heat recycling full package device and technology and successfully apply it to Ningbo Steel sintering machine project.

According to the project commissioning results in trial operation phase, its control system is stable and instrumentation feedback is good. Its sintering process large-scale production, ESP and sintering flue gas desulfurization device running coupling is good. It shows that Baosteel sintering waste gas recycling process technological innovation and application has achieved initial success. After sintering waste heat recycling project is built and put into operation in Ningpo Steel, it is expected to save 2.58 kg of standard coal for Ningpo Steel sintering ore per ton and reduce emission by above 30%. A variety of contaminants in sintering waste gas can also be purified in- depth and removed synchronically.

In the next stage, scientific research, production, equipment technical personnel will also center on the goal of saving more than 3% of sintering process energy, reducing more than 3% of carbon dioxide emission and more than 20% of total flue emission. It will increase collaborative research and continuous improvement efforts and constantly optimize sintering waste heat recycling operation and maintenance technique.
