Sweden-based Sandvik Process Systems has acquired Dutch company SGL Technology after a long cooperation between them in the production of processing machinery and equipment for chocolate.
Headquartered in Breda, the Netherlands, SGL has over three decades of experience in design, manufacturing and installation of customized machinery and equipment in the food industry, especially chocolate.
This deal advances the technology range that Sandvik Process Systems can offer to the food industry.
The new range includes chocolate moulding lines with several kinds of depositors, Rotoform pastillation plants and chunk extruders, turn-key food applications, conveying systems and packaging equipment.
Sandvik stated that the consolidation of the two firms enables it to offer a wider range of engineering products and services, thereby extending its offering in order to be a better and more complete supplier to the food sector.
The firm displayed a modular rotary depositing module at ProSweets in Cologne, Germany, which was held in conjunction with ISM this year.
