Anita's Organic Grain & Flour Mill of British Columbia is voluntarily recalling certain cookie products as they contain milk that is not mentioned on the product label, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
The products subject to recall include Anita's Organic Mill Chocolate Chips of 300 g bearing sell by dates 31 Aug 2013 to 1 Mar 2014 and UPC 6 23636 41000 7; Planet Organic Cosmic Cookie Dry Mix of 630g bearing codes CCM12320, CCM12340, CCM13025 and CCM13056; UPC 6 23636 11205 5.
The following products are also being recalled: Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix of 428g bearing codes CCCM12327, CCCM12355, CCCM13030 and CCCM13063; UPC 6 23636 10030 4 and 6 23636 99324 1; and Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix of 342g with codes CCCM12327, CCCM12355, CCCM13030 and CCCM13063; UPC 6 23636 10030 4.
These products have been distributed in British Columbia and may also have been distributed to other provinces in the country. There have been no reported reactions linked to the consumption of these products.
Consumers intolerant to milk are advised not to consume these products as it may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction.
Anita's Organic Grain & Flour Mill is recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
