Transics International, a fleet management solution company, has signed a contract with Almarai, a Saudi-Arabia based dairy firm.
The announcement was made by WABCO Holdings, tier-one supplier to the commercial vehicle industry that acquired Transics in February 2014.
Almarai's vehicle fleet of more than 1,300 trucks will be equipped with Transics fleet management system.
Starting in August 2014, Almarai's trucks will be upgraded with Transics' TX-SKY on-board computers and TX-CONNECT for efficient truck, trailer and cargo management. The process is expected to be complete by the second quarter of 2015.
Transics' Fleet Management Solution will enable Almarai to monitor its vehicles in real time and allow it to establish a direct link between its office, truck and drivers.
WABCO Trailer Systems Aftermarket and Off-Highway Divisions president Nick Rens said: "As a result of WABCO's strategic acquisition of Transics, customers can leverage the powerful combination of Transics' fleet management solutions with WABCO's commercial vehicle systems expertise, industry-leading safety and efficiency technologies and global reach.
"With this contract, we are demonstrating Transics' ability to reach beyond its core market of Europe to deliver differentiating fleet management solutions to a large-scale commercial vehicle fleet operator in Saudi Arabia."
