Roche has announced the US launch of ACCU-CHEK Combo system, designed for people with diabetes condition.
The system, which combines a blood glucose meter with an insulin pump, utilizes Bluetooth technology for two-way wireless communication.
The meter features a bolus advice function which allows users to calculate and deliver a bolus without touching the pump and also has flexibility to adjust the basal rate to as low as 0.05 units per hour in increments as precise as 0.01 units.
Roche Diabetes Care head Marc Gibeley said with the launch of the ACCU-CHEK Combo system, the company is offering people with a new choice to manage their diabetes.
"By combining blood glucose monitoring, data management and insulin delivery all in one system, people with diabetes can easily and discreetly incorporate diabetes management into their everyday life," Gibeley added.
In addition to the US, the ACCU-CHEK Combo system has been launched in several European and APAC countries including France, Germany, UK, and Australia.
