Mercedes-Benz Global Sales Grew 9.2% Y-O-Y in January, up 15.4% in China

February 5, Daimler announced that luxury-brand Mercedes-Benz global sales were 94,895 vehicles in January, up 9.2% year on year on the basis of 86,921 vehicles in January, 2012.

Chinese and American market promoted the sales growth of Mercedes-Benz. Benz China’s sales were 16,695 vehicles in January, increased 15.4% year on year compared to 14,463 vehicles in January last year. Benz American sales were 22,501 vehicles in January, rose 10.8% year on year compared to 20,306 vehicles in January last year. In Europe, where the car market was downturn, Benz still kept 2% growth rate year on year, rising from 34,205 vehicles to 34,872 vehicles.

Small models like Smart’s sales declined 4.2% year on year, from 7,605 vehicles to 7,285 vehicles. Integrated two brands, Mercedes-Benz automobile business department global sales were 102,180 vehicles in January, up 8.1% year on year compared to 94,526 vehicles in January last year.
