Alberta-based Kinnikinnick Foods is voluntarily recalling five products from the market as they contain milk which is not mentioned on the label, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
The recalled products include Original Homestyle Waffles, Cinnamon & Brown Sugar Homestyle Waffles, Kinni-Kwik Bread & Bun Mix, Pancake & Waffle Mix and Panko Style Bread Crumbs, with sizes of 210g, 210g, 465g, 454g and 350g, respectively.
The products were distributed across Canada and the US in retail stores and through direct shipments.
The agency is carrying out a food safety investigation, which could result in the recall of other products. It is verifying that industry is removing recalled products from the marketplace.
People who are allergic to milk are advised not to consume the recalled products, as it may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction.
Till date, there have been no reported illnesses due to the consumption of these products.
