Mondelez Has Initiated The Recall After It Was Notified by a Third-Party Supplier

Mondelēz International is voluntarily recalling belVita breakfast biscuits in US, Puerto Rico, as they may contain fragments of flexible metal mesh caused by a faulty screen at the company's facility.

Mondelez has initiated the recall after it was notified by a third-party supplier.

The products being recalled include belVita Breakfast Biscuit, Chocolate Variety, 1.76oz., with UPC code 0 44000 03192 3; belVita Breakfast Biscuit, Chocolate Variety, 8.8oz. with UPC code 0 44000 03194 7 and best when used by dates of 21 Jan 13 - 29 Sep 13.

The recall also includes belVita Breakfast Biscuit, Chocolate Variety, 14.08oz. with UPC code 0 44000 03163 3, best when used by dates of 16 May 13 - 13 Sep 13.

Mondelez is also recalling belVita Breakfast Biscuit, Apple Cinnamon Variety, 1.76oz. With UPC code 0 44000 02824 4; belVita Breakfast Biscuit, Apple Cinnamon Variety, 8.8oz. with UPC code 0 44000 02825 1 and best when used by dates of 8 Oct 12 - 2 Sep 13.

The company stated the recall is limited to the belVita Breakfast Biscuit, Apple Cinnamon and Chocolate varieties, manufactured and sold in the US, Puerto Rico. No other belVita products are affected by this recall.

Customers are advised not to eat these products and discard any of them if they have purchased.
