France-based global pipe manufacturer Vallourec has announced that its subsidiary Valinox Nucléaire, specializing in the production of steam generator tubes for nuclear power plants, received a number of significant orders at the end of 2012.
According to Vallourec's statement, after two earlier contracts signed in February 2012, Valinox Nucléaire has been awarded three new contracts for the production of tubes for steam generators in 1,300MW reactors, as part of the program to renovate the nuclear facilities of électricité de France (EDF), France's main electricity generation and distribution company. Vallourec said that the deliveries are scheduled to take place between 2013 and 2015.
Additionally, the Vallourec subsidiary has also signed three contracts for the Asian market, to supply tubes for two APR 1400 units in South Korea and one AP 1000 unit in China.
In 2011, Valinox Nucléaire invested in its Montbard plant in the Burgundy region of France, tripling its capacity. It will complete the construction of a new plant in Guangdong Province of China in mid-2013.
