Argo Group International, a Bermuda-based underwriter of specialty insurance and reinsurance products, has appointed Thomas A. Poland as vice president.
Based in Colony Specialty's Alpharetta, Georgia office, Poland will lead the Colony Specialty's new Inland Marine Insurance unit.
Prior to joining to Argo Group, Poland served Seneca / Crum & Forster as regional marine product line manager and also held similar roles at Fireman's Fund Insurance and Reliance Insurance.
Argo Group International excess and surplus lines chief underwriting officer Michael Fleischer said that Poland's expertise is expected to help the company give immediate traction in the Inland Marine market.
"We are excited about expanding Colony Specialty's suite of products to include Inland Marine, and very pleased to have Tom join our team to lead that charge," Fleischer added.
The company's suite of Inland Marine products includes customer goods in transit, motor truck cargo legal liability, contractor's equipment, rigger's liability, builder's risk and renovation projects, installation floaters, commercial output policies, warehouse legal liability, and a variety of floaters.
