Flushing, N.Y.-based Tempco Glass Fabrication celebrated the grand opening of its factory on Friday, March 22, 2013. With about 75 guests in attendance, including several elected officials, the ribbon was cut to officially open the 20,000—square-foot, newly refurbished and outfitted facility located at 131-10 Maple Avenue in Flushing.
Queens Borough president Helen Marshall spoke at the event and led the ribbon-cutting ceremony. In addition, U.S. Congresswoman Grace Meng, New York State Sen. Toby Ann Stavisky and New York State Assemblyman Ron Kim were in attendance.
Tempco general manager Steven Powell also spoke.
“I am extremely proud that Tempco is now officially open for business,” he said. “Since our launch a few short months ago, we have renovated the building, installed production machinery, constructed office space and set up computers and software systems.”
