German carmaker BMW has unveiled the new 3 Series Gran Turismo ahead of its global debut at the upcoming 83rd Geneva Motor Show to be held between 05 March 2013 and 17 March 2013 in Switzerland.
To be offered in modern, luxury and sport trim levels, the new model will be available in three petrol and two diesel engine options, featuring TwinPower Turbo technology and generate outputs ranging between 143hp and 306hp.
According to the carmaker, the top model in line-up, the BMW 335i Gran Turismo, is powered by a 3.0L six-cylinder petrol engine, while the other petrol and diesel line-up including 328i, 320i, 320d and 318d are powered by 2.0L four-cylinder engines.
All the engines can either be mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or an optional eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.
Features of the powertrain line-up include the new EfficientDynamics technology comprising auto start-stop function, brake energy regeneration and optimum shift indicator, while the ECO PRO and the new ECO PRO Route driving modes allow enhancing fuel efficiency.
The 3 Series Gran Turismo's enhanced suspension technology, features several light-alloy components including the torque steer-free electric power steering, finely-balanced axle load distribution and a torsionally stiff lightweight body that are aimed at improving handling characteristics, agility and precision.
Sales of the new 3 Series Gran Turismo are expected to begin in summer 2013.
