Sysco Canada has agreed to acquire foodservice distributor Tannis Trading for an undisclosed amount.
Headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, Tannis Trading supplies food products to the food service industry. It offers institutional food products, fresh/frozen meats/seafood, vegetables, confectionery items, grocery products, fluid milk products, ice cream, pizza supplies, and food service supplies.
Tannis also serves restaurants, fast food institutions, convenience stores in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec.
It generated close to $118m in revenues during its last fiscal.
The acquisition is subject to approval from Canadian regulatory agencies.
Tannis distribution facility in Ottawa will continue to operate as usual with the existing employees and management team, upon completion of the acquisition.
