Germany-based CGS Publishing Technologies, a provider of digital proofing, color management and production workflows, has announced the official UK launch of its ORIS Flex Pack // Web contract proofing solution.
The new bundled package has been developed exclusively as a cost-effective, on-demand alternative to slow and expensive legacy systems for packaging proofing.
CGS Europe key account director Heiner Mueller said that there is a clear need to standardize color management in the packaging proofing sector in order to be competitive and for ensuring consistency between proofs and output product, according to packagingeurope.com.
"The new XG inks have a dramatically extended gamut, are clearer and brighter and offer a larger printable colour space, so that almost all Pantone? colours can be reproduced to contract proofing standards. This allows the ORIS Flex Pack // Web solution to deliver contract quality proofs and prototypes for any kind of flexible packaging," Mueller said.
The full package includes the ORIS Flex Pack // Web software and the Roland VersaCAMM VS-series wide format printer/cutters, an ORIS heating unit plus a full range of proofing media and the ability to connect to the Esko Color Engine spot color database.
It is said be an authentic turnkey solution which will provide design agencies, repro houses and in-house packaging departments with savings in consumable costs and production time.
