Finnish mobile giant Nokia Corp introduced its first ever Windows tablet, the Nokia Lumia 2520, and launched a portfolio of large screen Lumia smartphones: the Lumia 1520 and 1320, in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. Finally, Nokia made an ending to say goodbye to his golden age.
The 10.1-inch Nokia Lumia 2520, running on Windows RT 8.1, combines both 4G LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity, a 6.7MP camera, and for the first time ever on a tablet, ZEISS optics, letting people take good pictures — even in low light.
The Lumia 1520 and Lumia 1320 were the first batch of big screen smartphones introduced by Nokia. With a six-inch screen and the latest software advancements for Windows Phone, the Lumia 1320 and Lumia 1520 are perfectly suited for entertainment and productivity, Nokia said at the event.
This was the last time that Nokia launched new products by an independent brand. The tablet product also fills in the blanks of tablet business. In the future, Lumia will not disappear and wil become the core product of Google. In China, Nokia was the seventh-biggest mobile phone vendor in the second quarter, but the company was not even among the top 10 smartphone makers in the country during the period.
