Toyota and Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance Develop Translog Telematics Servicefor Fleet Contractors

Toyota Motor Corporation and Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance Co., Ltd. will launch a discounted insurance fee service on August 1, 2016. This will be targeted at fleet contractors with 10 vehicles or more, and who implement the Accident Reduction Program1 that utilizes the TransLog telematics service2.

Launched in January this year, TransLog is a Toyota Rent a Car telematics service for corporate car lease users. It aims to contribute to cost reductions, road traffic accident prevention, and the optimization of operational management. Targeting these aims, services such as the Eco Drive Support and fuel efficiency management, dangerous behavior record, and vehicle tracking and tracing are provided.

Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance will also promote safe driving by providing advice based on actual driving data through the Sasaeru NAVI3, a service that utilizes designated on-board devices.

Using vehicle data obtained from TransLog, the service will provide customers with one of Sasaeru NAVI's services, the Accident Reduction Program. Fleet contractors who sign up to this service will be eligible for a 6% discount on their automobile insurance. In order to claim this discount, fleet contractors must install designated on-board devices in 50% or more of their insured vehicles. However, other than Translog, the service can also be used with other on-board devices that are specified by Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance, thus making it convenient for fleet contractors to sign up for the service.

Through this service, Toyota, Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance, and Toyota Rent a Car dealers will help to enhance the safety of their customers, and help them drive with a peace of mind. At the same time, all parties involved will work to strengthen Toyota Rent a Car Driving Improvement Support, which proposes optimal ways of using cars to community-based fleet contractors.
