US-based SK Food has unveiled plans to set up a food manufacturing facility in the Columbus region, Ohio, a move which would create approximately 250 jobs over the next three years.
The $13m project will be operated within the company's existing 150,000ft2 to 200,000ft2 warehouse in a yet to be determined location.
Scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2014, the hiring will include production, warehouse and administrative staff positions.
The plant will cater to retailers, convenience stores and vending machine companies across North America and will produce, package and distribute sandwiches and entrees.
SK Food president and CEO Steve Sposari said, "We were impressed with the Columbus region's reputation in the manufacturing sector, including food manufacturing, and also its strategic location for logistics and distribution channels."
