Italy-based packaging firm LIC Packaging has ordered the Rapida 162a Twin Pack for its upcoming packaging print needs.
The two units to be installed have a coater, automated pile logistics, automatic plate changers, CleanTronic Synchro, which enable them to handle a range of substrates.
LIC Packaging set up a KBA technology equipment for the first time in 2008, with the purchase of six-color Rapida 162 coater press.
Two second-hand Planeta presses were installed when LIC moved to its current location.
LIC Packaging managing director Piero Bertoldo said the quality expectations have become more demanding and plan to split the printing jobs when the two new Rapidas get into action based on substrates and job specifications.
LIC's customer base encompasses food-processing, chemicals, soap and detergent, electrical goods and glass industries, and manufactures food trays, master boxes, quick easy tops (QET), displays and many other optically appealing packaging forms.
