Volkswagen has initiated a voluntary safety recall of its 2015 Golf GTI and Golf vehicles due to malfunction of the front stabilizer rod in some of the vehicles.
The recall will affect 2,001 Golf GTI and Golf vehicles sold across the US.
According to the Volkswagen, the affected stabilizer rod can get loose overtime, and could result in generation of noise from the front part of the vehicle.
In some cases the rod can even get detached resulting in interference with the vehicles steering, which could lead to a crash.
The car maker notified the issue to the American National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and it will notify the owners of the affected vehicle and replace the rod for free.
Volkswagen claims that it has not received any reports regarding accidents due to the issue, but for the safety of its consumers the car maker has issued the recall.
