Bunge North America’s Cincinnati-based grain terminal was bought last week by local storage and logistics business Vogt Warehouse, stated Bunge.
"We had already determined the Cincinnati location did not fit our long-term strategy and intended to sell the facility," added Seidel without disclosing the details.
Vogt Warehouse adds Bunge's terminal to its many such facilities owned in Ohio's Cincinnati area.
Shut down in August 2014 due to an accidental explosion -- caused by grain dust, according to Ohio state officials, major grain processor and exporter Bunge stopped bidding around autumn's harvest time in the region.
Industry sources revealed that the terminal, which lies in proximity to the Ohio river, had a four million bushel capacity and used to ship grain to the Southeast livestock and poultry market by rail.
A branch of Bunge Ltd., Bunge North America is among the world's top four agricultural trading companies.
