ChargePoint has partnered wit the ECOtality and formed the Collaboratev, electric vehicle (EV) charging network interoperability company in the US.
The company will offer the other charging network providers to join as affiliates and allow EV to charge all affiliated charging networks in the US by adding the ChargePoint and Blink networks to Collaboratev in 2013.
Services aimed to be offered by the company include EV charging stations using common authentication credentials, one bill for all charging, provide the EV charging station location data and use open national interoperability standards.
ChargePoint president and CEO Pat Romano said, "Collaboratev will give EV drivers access to all stations, locations, availability and mapping features in the public domain."
ECOtality CEO Ravi Brar said: "We are fostering an open ecosystem and invite others to join us in making it easy for EV drivers nationwide to get the charge they need whenever and wherever they are."
