US-based packaging products provider Scholle has signed a deal to merge its business with performance packaging solutions provider IPN to form a new diverse performance packaging company.
The move is expected to offer performance-based packaging solutions from multiple manufacturing locations in North America, Europe, Australia, Latin America, China, and India to various brands globally.
Scholle chairman Rob Scholle said the move would allow offering novel solutions to the current customers and on to new retail and institutional applications.
"This makes IPN a great complimentary fit with Scholle," Scholle added.
IPN offers a range of flexible packaging components including connectors, spouts, and pumps for pouches and bag-in-box systems.
IPN founder Laurens Last said, "Scholle's long history of success in creating valuable, innovative system solutions such as barrier films, dispensing fitments, and aseptic filling equipment for the beverage, food, wine, and non-food industries is parallel to IPN's dedication to providing our international customers with creative ways to increase their profitability with sustainable, smart packaging solutions."
Scholle Packaging provides bag-in-box solutions, aseptic packaging solutions and filling equipment with dispensing fitments for food, beverage, and non-food bag-inbox packaging.
Scholle president and CEO Leon Gianneschi said both companies have deeply-established capabilities in packaging system development, and product design and manufacture.
"This combination multiplies our ability to provide performance packaging solutions to assist our customers in delivering their products more safely, more pure, and easier to use in today's on-the-go lifestyle, all while reducing product waste," Gianneschi added.
