Close Its Tigard Plant in Oregon, Us and Eliminate About 89 Jobs

Automotive parts supplier Commercial Vehicle Group is reportedly planning to close its Tigard plant in Oregon, US and eliminate about 89 jobs.

The facility is scheduled to be closed by 9 July 2014. It was used to manufacture interior trim components such as instrument panels and storage cabinets used in large commercial vehicles.

According to reports, the company is expected to shift its manufacturing work at the Tigard facility to other plants in North America.

The move follows shift of the company's customers to other geographic regions.

Commercial Vehicle Group is expected to offer transition support or jobs to the current Tigard workers at its other facilities.

In the previous quarter, the company had reported a net loss of $506,000 on revenues of $198.1m.

Earlier, the Commercial Vehicle Group had closed its plant in Vancouver, Washington that led to layoff of 71 workers.
