Acura, the luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Honda Motor, has launched the 2013 TL special edition sedan incorporating upgraded features.
The front-wheel-drive sedan is powered by a 3.5L V-6 engine that features single overhead camshaft cylinder heads and 24 valves along with variable valve timing and lift electronic control (VTEC) system.
Mated to a Sequential SportShift 6-speed automatic transmission, the engine generates an output of 280hp and 254lb-ft of torque.
A standard straight-gate style console-mounted shifter facilitates operating the automatic transmission, while a steering wheel paddle shifter system is aimed at offering racing inspired driving, which functions when the transmission is in Drive or Sport mode.
The special edition model features standard keyless access system, which enables the driver to enter and drive the car without handling any key or fob.
Safety features of the sedan include vehicle stability assist (VSA) with traction control, ABS, dual-stage/multiple-threshold front airbags, front-side airbags, side curtain airbags for all outboard seating positions, front seatbelts with automatic tensioning system and load limiters, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and daytime running lights (DRL).
Being built at Honda of America plant in Marysville, Ohio, the model is equipped with a 10-spoke, 18-inch alloy wheels, a colour-matched deck lid spoiler and trunk-mounted special edition badging.
