Plastic Technologies Makes Clasper Blow Molded Bottle Technology Available to Brand Owners

Plastic Technologies' Clasper blow molded bottle technology is now available to brand owners who plan to market a product in a package with two separate containers.

The technology offers a packaging solution for boundary-pushing food, beverage, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, industrial and household chemical products.

It unites two polyethylene terephthalate (PET) containers, with the bottom container snapping into the base of the larger top bottle.

With two separate containers packed in one unit, brand owners can have two different products that can either be consumed one after the other or mixed before consumption.

Plastic Technologies marketing and new business development director Ron Puvak said: “With brand owners continuing to develop new products and create new sub-categories, we wanted to create a disruptive package type that pushes traditional boundaries.

“It gives companies a way to market companion products—such as two liquids or a liquid and a powder—that, for whatever reason, cannot be premixed.”

The new technology had been implemented last month for Yumix Brand to pack its portable, shelf-stable range of cocktails.

Yumix had come up with a bottom container having 50ml of alcohol while the main bottle of 6.5oz volume was filled with hot, shelf-stable juice.

The size and shape of the two compartments can be changed as desired by the brand owners to accommodate a variety of other applications.

Although The Clasper technology was originally designed for hot-fill applications, changes can be made to fit in other process types as well according to Plastic Technologies.

While Yumix founder Alex Garner is the brain behind The Clasper technology, the concept was engineered by Plastic Technologies.
