James Moore, owner of Moore’s Bike Shop in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, is the new president of the board of the National Bicycle Dealers Association. He replaces Jerry Hiniker, co-owner of Superior North Outdoor Center in Grand Marais, Minnesota, who remains on the board as a director.
Hiniker became board president in March after then-president Beth Annon-Lovering stepped down. Hiniker is now stepping down to reduce his workload and to focus more on advocacy efforts in his local community, the NBDA said in a press release.
“This is an important time for the NBDA and the bicycle industry. Although I did not seek the presidency, I am excited about the opportunity and will be working hard to represent bicycle dealers and help the NBDA move forward,” Moore said.
“I wasn’t expecting to become president in March, but stepped in when it was necessary. I am glad to now move aside and let James take it from here,” Hiniker said. “It’s a great organization and I’ll continue to do my best to help it improve.”
